EVANS MARY F. Age 101 of Dearborn. Died April 10, 2012. Mary was born in Windber, Pennsylvania, grew up in Detroit and lived in Dearborn for over 60 years. Mary achieved Centurion plus status on March 13, 2012. She was involved with the Knights of Columbus Colleens and Tabernacle Society at Sacred Heart Church. She attended her weekly seniors meeting faithfully and enjoyed bingo and slot machines up until her end. She is lovingly survived by her four children, Bob, Ron (Sara), Patricia and Kathleen Evans. MICHAEL JOSEPH JR. 87 passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012. He was born March 2, 1925, in Detroit, MI and was a 43 year resident of Las Vegas. Joe was a decorated World War II army veteran, participating in all but one of the European Campaigns. He retired from the gaming industry where he worked as a casino executive. Joe loved people and always took time to get to know anyone he met. He was very devoted to his family; loving husband, father and grandfather. ZIEHR RUTH BERNADETTE walked home with her Lord on April 10, 2012 after a lengthy iliness. Ruth was born July 21, 1932 to Edmond and Gertrude Kraft in Warren, MI. She was one of nine children. Ruth earned her Master's degree from Wayne State University and taught 33 years in Utica and L'Anse Creuse Schools. She was united in marriage to Frederick Ziehr in 1953. Ruth was a member of the Metamora Hunt. She is survived by her children, Michael (Diane) Ziehr of Grosse Pointe and Helena (John R.) Baker of Baraga; grandchildren, Brook Ziehr, Michelle Holland, Cristine Baker, and John Baker; great-grandchildren, Eli, Bea, Edward Holland and Svanja Baker; her brothers and sisters, Gertrude Berlinger, Eileen (ray) Waelchali, James (Jan) Kraft, Karen O'Connor, and Gloria (Charles) Kelly. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many endearing friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick in 1991 and her grandson, Hudson Holland IV. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 10:30 am Friday, April 13, 2012 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Road, Lake Orion with Father Stephen Pullis celebrant. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 12th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at the OXFORD CHAPEL of Huntoon Funeral Home, 47 N. Washington (M-24) in Oxford. Rosary service will be held at 7:30. The family requests donations in Ruth's memory to the Parkinson Disease Foundation.
